About The Position

Halal Certification Services USA, Inc. is a leading U.S. based certification body providing end-to-end halal auditing, training and advisory services to businesses in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The company assists businesses in navigating the global halal market with integrity and efficiency. This is a need-based, on-site role for a Shariah Auditor (also referred to as Sharyah Technical Auditor) located in the USA (New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut). The Shariah Auditor will collaborate with a technical auditor to ensure all production aspects strictly align with Islamic Jurisprudence. The role involves evaluating the ethical and religious compliance of processes, providing expert oversight on Islamic dietary laws, and ensuring Tayyib (purity) is maintained throughout the supply chain. This position is open only to USA residents who are authorized to work in the United States (U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders).

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Halal standards, Islamic dietary laws, and certification processes.
  • Strong analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and training sessions.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and the ability to prepare detailed audit reports with technical auditor.
  • Proficiency in English
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally to conduct on-site inspections and audits.
  • Currently residing in the United States (U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders).
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in one of the following specialized fields: Islamic Studies, Shariah Law (Fiqh), Hadith Sciences, Arabic Language & Islamic Literature.
  • Deep expertise in Islamic Dietary Laws and Halal/Haram distinctions.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply classical Fiqh to modern industrial contexts.
  • Excellent communication skills in English proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Arabic is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate documents and conduct on site inspections to verify that ingredients, manufacturing methods and logistics adhere to Shariah principles.
  • Apply deep knowledge of Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Hadith and Quranic principles to resolve complex certification questions.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure scientific processes do not conflict with religious standards.
