About The Position

Woodfords Family Services is seeking Shared Living Providers to join our expanding program throughout Maine communities. As a Shared Living Provider, you will offer family and home-based support to adults with intellectual disabilities in Central and Southern Maine, helping them improve their independence. You will provide direct assistance within your own home or apartment, creating a nurturing family atmosphere that promotes relationships and community involvement. This program serves as an alternative to group home living and focuses on support in areas of education, employment, community access, family inclusion, and independent living skills.

Requirements

  • Must currently reside in Maine.
  • Must have a spare bedroom.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Personal vehicle with current auto insurance.
  • Ability to complete and maintain compliance with all required trainings.
  • Pass background checks.
  • Pass home inspection.

Nice To Haves

  • Parents, relatives, or family friends can be Shared Living providers for their loved ones with intellectual disabilities when they reach adulthood.
  • Shared Living providers can be paired with a non-related individual with similar interests.
