About The Position

This position involves leading the Public Relations and Marketing Team for the Student Government Association (SGA). The role is responsible for actively promoting student understanding of and participation in the SGA, serving as the SGA's media relations coordinator, and informing campus and local media about SGA events, news, decisions, and policy. The Director will manage and create all SGA graphic design, images, and promotional materials, plan and run the SGA's radio show, and facilitate directors' programming and outreach. Additionally, the role includes coordinating, developing, and maintaining the SGA's social media presence, producing a regular newsletter, forming a working relationship with the Office of University Relations and Communications, developing, updating, and managing the SGA website, and creating and uploading Bright Sign Presentations. The Director will also collaborate with fellow directors to plan events for campuswide observation days and attend SGA Senate and Executive Staff meetings. A minimum of 10 hours per week is required in the SGA Office or related work meetings on campus, excluding Student Senate. A meeting at the end of each semester with the Executive Director is required to discuss and document transitional material, including accomplishments and helpful tips, which must be typed, emailed, and stored in the SGA email account, as well as handed over for the next person in the role. Transitional materials must also include an updated list of contacts at the last meeting of the executive's term. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Reports to the Executive Director

Responsibilities
