About The Position

The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. The SANE exam may include a medical-forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy sexually transmitted infections, photographic documentation, and referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Valid and Current Texas RN license.
Current SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) certification from the Texas Attorney General office or Currently in-progress of certification and obtained within 6 months of hire.
Current TNCC, or required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
Two years of Emergency Department or Acute Care Experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim.
Conduct medical-forensic exams.
Administer prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
Perform photographic documentation.
Make referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up.
Provide support and participation in legal proceedings.
