About The Position

Lands’ End is seeking a VAS and Sewing Maintenance Chief Technician to join our maintenance team at our corporate headquarters in Dodgeville, WI. This position is responsible for overseeing sewing machines and equipment across Value-Added Services areas, including embroidery, monogramming, and hemming, while supporting equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role partners closely with departmental leads, supervisors, and sewing technicians to support daily operations, complete special projects on schedule, and keep training materials current for all sewing and embroidery equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience maintaining or supporting sewing, embroidery, monogramming, hemming, or similar production equipment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose equipment issues and coordinate repairs.
  • Ability to lead, schedule, and support technicians in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with department leads, supervisors, technicians, and training teams.
  • Experience using work order systems, email, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to organize priorities, follow up on assigned work, and ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to become forklift certified.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily maintenance activity across embroidery, monogramming, and hemming operations.
  • Collaborate with embroidery, monogramming, and hemming leads and supervisors to support staffing, workflow, and project execution.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating special projects requiring VAS capabilities.
  • Conduct biweekly touch-base meetings with sewing technicians.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the Learning and Development department.
  • Review, update, and request adjustments to training content for both legacy and newer sewing and embroidery machines.
  • Perform daily walkthroughs of all sewing departments to assess operational maintenance needs.
  • Meet with department leads to identify required resources or support.
  • Hold daily touchpoints with sewing technicians to align on priorities and resolve technical or workflow issues.
  • Create and manage schedules for all sewing technicians.
  • Ensure adequate coverage and skill alignment across all sewing and VAS departments.
  • Complete and submit payroll accurately by the end of each pay period.
  • Generate work orders and assign tasks to the appropriate technicians.
  • Monitor progress and ensure all assigned projects are completed on time and to quality standards.
