We currently have an immediate opening for an experienced Seamstress. A sewing machine operator's job description includes operating industrial sewing machines to assemble garments, textiles, or other fabric products, following patterns and specifications. Key duties involve setting up the machine, selecting correct materials like thread and needles, performing quality checks on finished products, and maintaining the equipment. They must be detail-oriented and work with precision to meet production standards and quotas.

Requirements

Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and related equipment.
Strong attention to detail and precision in stitching and measurements.
Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and patterns.
Knowledge of different fabrics and their properties.
Often requires a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Use industrial sewing machines to sew, join, hem, reinforce, or finish materials according to technical instructions.
Select appropriate thread, needles, and other supplies based on product specifications and material type.
Guide fabric through the machine and maneuver workpieces to ensure accurate and consistent stitching.
Inspect finished products for defects, trim excess threads, and ensure the product meets company standards.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on sewing machines to keep them in good working order.
Read and interpret blueprints, patterns, and other technical documents to understand production requirements.
