About The Position

Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley is one of the largest employers in the region, with the mission to empower those with disadvantages and disabilities to improve their quality of life. The Sewing Operations Manager is responsible for training and leading team members on sewing machine operations, cutting processes, and sewing procedures. This position will also be responsible for providing sewing machine troubleshooting assistance.

Requirements

Previous sewing experience is required.
Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
Ability to provide team member oversight.
Willingness to learn various sewing techniques.
Demonstrate ability to inspect work.
Willingness to perform various duties at different workstations when needed.
Ability to perform duties while sitting during an entire shift.
Exhibit excellent fine motor skills.
Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work as a team member; demonstrate the ability to work independently.
Demonstrate organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Train team members on all productive procedure including, but not limited to: cutting processes, sewing processes and the grommet process.
Provide sewing machine troubleshooting assistance.
Work with the Operations Manager to assure processes and procedures are followed.
Help establish and maintain effective production workflow that meets productive quotes.
Exhibit willingness to learn use of various equipment and sewing techniques and train team members on them.
Willingness to perform duties at various workstations when needed.
Train team members on inspection and repair of finished products as needed and make machine adjustments to compensate for errors or quality issues.
Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, HIPAA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
All other duties assigned.
Direct training of all Machine Operators and Team Members.
