About The Position

This position is for a Sewer, with different levels of responsibility and skill outlined. The role involves operating various sewing machines to assemble garment materials, ensuring quality and efficiency. Responsibilities range from basic material handling and stitching to complex assembly and quality control, with increasing levels of autonomy and guidance provided to junior sewers as seniority increases.

Requirements

Proficiency in handling, positioning, and moving garment materials.
Ability to thread, change bobbins, and replace needles.
Skill in sewing various garment materials together.
Familiarity with the metric measuring system.
Capability to complete repairs and rework non-conforming materials.
Ability to perform various stitching patterns and specialized stitching functions.
Competence in completing closure and top stitch sewing.
Experience with single needle and bar tacking machines.
Attention to detail and pursuit of quality.
Ability to maintain a safe and clean work area.
Adherence to company safety and quality standards.
Ability to operate Single Needle, Double Needle, Button Hole Machine, Button Sewing Machine, Bar Tacking Machine, Binding Machine, and Merro Machine with minimal guidance (Sewer Level 2).
Ability to sew various garment materials together, such as pockets and openings (Sewer Level 2).
Ability to perform various stitching patterns and specialized stitching functions with moderate supervision (Sewer Level 2).
Ability to sew various garment materials together, for example, Daypacks (Sewer Level 3).
Ability to examine the sewing machine to identify any defects in stitching or machine malfunction (Sewer Level 3).
Ability to sew various garment materials together with minimal guidance and good quality (Sewer Level 3).
Ability to perform various stitching patterns and specialized stitching functions with no supervision (Sewer Level 4).
Ability to adapt easily and sew in any other department where needed (Sewer Level 4).
Ability to sew the most efficiently with the best quality (Sewer Level 4).
Ability to analyze a sample and sew it independently (Sewer Level 4).
Capability to guide Sewer Level 1, 2 and 3 if needed (Sewer Level 4).
Capability to be Backup Team Leader if needed (Sewer Level 4).

Responsibilities

Handling, positioning, and moving garment materials through the sewing machine.
Threading, changing bobbins, and replacing needles.
Sewing various garment materials together (e.g., zippers, hook and loop, webbing, pockets, openings, Daypacks).
Replenishing garment materials for the sewing machine.
Utilizing the metric measuring system to measure garment materials.
Completing repairs and reworking non-conforming materials.
Performing various stitching patterns and specialized stitching functions.
Completing closure and top stitch sewing on all garments.
Performing work using a single needle and bar tacking machine.
Examining the sewing machine to identify defects or malfunctions.
Operating Single Needle, Double Needle, Button Hole Machine, Button Sewing Machine, Bar Tacking Machine, Binding Machine, and Merro Machine.
Analyzing samples and sewing them independently.
Guiding Sewer Level 1, 2, and 3 if needed.
Acting as Backup Team Leader if needed.
Maintaining a safe and clean work area.
Working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.
Performing other related duties as required and assigned.
