About The Position

Performs operations to prepare, assemble, and sew a variety of cover parts for final upholstery. Works on assigned models, preparing, reworking, repairing, assembling, and sewing parts to meet requirements for alignment, matching, dimensions, and quality. Checks completed sewn cover parts against quantity and quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience.
• Basic understanding of specialized or technical fields to operate machinery; usually less than 90 days of training is required.

Responsibilities

• Adjust sewing machine settings with a small screwdriver to prepare for the next piece.
• Use sewing patterns to align fabric correctly before sewing.
• Manually feed fabric through the needle housing and use a foot pedal to control needle speed.
• Use scissors to trim excess fabric from completed sewn parts.
• Open the bobbin housing with a seam ripper to change thread spools.
• Periodically change needles using tweezers.
• Prepare, rework, repair, assemble, and sew cover parts for assigned models.
• Check completed sewn cover parts for alignment, matching, dimensions, quantity, and quality.
