About The Position

Operates sewing machine to join, gather, hem, reinforce, or decorate articles by performing the following duties. The facility operates four days per week plus necessary overtime as dictated by business needs. Work overtime may be required as part of the sewers’ schedule to support changes in volume or production requirements may change the length of scheduled shifts. Sewers must be willing to work the required hours to support business deadlines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ability to sew cut pieces in order to form a cover (Truck, Bus, Armrest, etc).
• Knowledge of how different materials stretch when they are sewn together.
• Ability to picture and establish a sewing sequence (most practical way to join pieces).
• Ability to maintain a quality product through its production path.
• Ability to effectively communicate issues concerning production or other relative items and how to resolve them.
• Clean up as necessary
• Process sheets for the production of parts daily and weekly.
