Under the direction of the supervisor, this individual is responsible for setting up and operating various pieces of equipment including hydraulic presses, hones, lathes, baking ovens, and CNC equipment. The role requires maintaining an orderly inventory of associated jigs, tools, dies, and measuring instruments. The individual must be capable of operating all equipment in the department at production levels, training new employees, and filling in on any job, including lead person roles when necessary. This position involves selecting and installing tooling and programs for multiple part sizes, performing offsets to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications, and performing setups for others as production demands. The incumbent may be responsible for at least one person more than 50% of the time. Responsibilities also include adapting existing tools for new jobs, performing simple maintenance on tools and machines (e.g., sharpening, lubrication), maintaining accurate production records and counts, ensuring a safe and clean work area, moving work as required, undertaking experimental work, and performing other assigned duties.
