About The Position

The Set Up Technician is responsible for setting up production jobs in assembly. This is an on-site, full-time, temp-to-hire position in East Syracuse, New York. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Salary is based on experience, up to $18 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of related experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to follow and execute detailed processes and directions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Familiarity with arbor press and pneumatic press operations.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily set-ups promptly and accurately.
• Troubleshoot and maintain presses and production equipment during the assigned shift.
• Verify that the correct blueprints, gauges, and components are on the line according to the corresponding Shop Order Packet.
• Complete the first 5-part check to verify that production is set up correctly on the line.
• Complete required changeovers during the shift and ensure set-up kits contain the correct tooling equipment and job instructions.
• Assist the Material Handler as needed to support production.
• Remain cross-trained in assembly to provide coverage as needed.
• Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly while following company rules and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
