About The Position

The Setup Technician is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining wire manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This position supports production operations by performing machine changeovers, tooling installations, process adjustments, and troubleshooting equipment issues while maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing setup, machine operation, or industrial maintenance experience.
Ability to read and interpret production specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.
Knowledge of measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and wire gauges.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and set up equipment safely.
Basic computer skills for production reporting and data entry.

Responsibilities

Set up and prepare wire machinery according to production schedules and specifications.
Install and adjust tooling, guides, rollers, welding heads, dies, fixtures, and machine components.
Perform machine changeovers for different mesh sizes, wire diameters, widths, and product configurations.
Verify machine settings to include wire spacing, mesh dimensions, welding parameters, tension, and feed rates.
Assist with first-piece inspections and test runs to ensure product quality and compliance with customer requirements.
Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to maintain production efficiency and product consistency.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process-related issues.
Perform machine changeovers and line clearances while minimizing downtime.
Work closely with operators, quality personnel, and supervisors to resolve production issues.
Complete setup documentation, production records, and maintenance logs accurately.
Assist with preventive maintenance activities and equipment inspections.
Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
