About The Position

Weingartz is seeking a Set-Up Technician for their Utica, MI location. This role involves preparing equipment based on sales orders, assembling and testing equipment to ensure safety and functionality, and demonstrating equipment usage to customers. The technician will collaborate with the Sales team to enhance the customer experience, maintain organized workspaces, and assist with inventory management. A positive and team-oriented attitude is essential when interacting with both customers and colleagues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mechanical or equipment repair position.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow manufacturer equipment manuals and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with standard desktop software, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, including accuracy when working with numbers.
  • Basic math skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid chauffeur's license is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and prepare the right equipment based on sales orders
  • Unpack, assemble, and test equipment to make sure it’s working safely and correctly
  • Show customers how to use the equipment in a clear and professional manner
  • Work closely with the Sales team to help create a great customer experience
  • Keep workspaces, tools, and storage areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Help out with inventory checks and keeping track of equipment
  • Maintain a positive, team-friendly attitude when working with customers and coworkers
