About The Position

The primary responsibilities of the Set-Up Technician are to set-up and start-up various machines on the production floor and ensure they are in proper working order for the beginning of the production shift. This position will also perform maintenance tasks, troubleshoot, provide staff training, among other tasks. The Set-Up Technician ensures ProMed’s brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
At least one (1) year of experience as a machine operator
Demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility within a silicone molding operation.
Knowledge of medical component manufacturing preferred
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Team Player
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good problem-solving skills, with ability to multitask and plan activities for multiple projects
Ability to Schedule, coordinate and keep manufacturing projects and documentation up to date and on track
Knowledge/Training to ISO 13485(current), Medical Devices QM System
Knowledge/Training to ISO 14971(current}, Risk Management
Professional, courteous, and friendly personality
Working knowledge of English (verbal and written)

Nice To Haves

Technical degree in related field preferred
Experience with MS Office
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Clearly conveys ideas and receives information effectively
Self-starter with a proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

Perform press set-up and start-up
Barrel cleaning and set-up
Cold Deck cleaning and set-up
Troubleshooting to improve product quality
Molding of sample and qualification jobs
Assist Engineers with process improvement and the associated documentation
Assist Engineers with writing processes
Follow manufacturing procedures which include documentation of product traceability
Identify and initiate enhancements to equipment, tooling, and processes
Efficiency and productivity improvements
Reduction of mold damage
Provide training to production and set-up personnel on new/existing set-ups, molding processes, and inspection
Support R&D projects
Back-up for Milling and mixing materials
Back-up for production team Leads
Identifies and implements a comprehensive education plan to continually advance technical skills and personal development as well as enhancing organizational effectiveness.
Participates in project planning.
Establishes and cultivates a network of support (laboratory, quality, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments.
The employee is expected to develop acceptable work habits, skills, knowledge, and contributions consistent with the position level.
