About The Position

The Set-Up Technician Class B is responsible for assisting in the setup, adjustment, and basic troubleshooting of production machinery used in the manufacturing of automotive parts. This role supports Class A technicians and operators by preparing equipment for production runs, performing minor maintenance, and ensuring machines are operating safely and efficiently.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED (required).
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
Works well under direction and supports senior technicians.
Follows setup instructions and ensures accuracy.
Adheres to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
Open to training and skill development.
Basic knowledge of hand tools and measuring instruments.
Familiarity with production machinery (e.g., presses, CNC, molding machines).
Ability to read simple work instructions and setup sheets.
Basic computer or scanner skills for data entry.

Nice To Haves

Technical training in industrial maintenance, machining, or a related field (preferred).
1-2 years of experience in machine setup or technical support in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.

Responsibilities

Assist with machine setups and changeovers under the guidance of senior technicians.
Perform basic adjustments and calibrations to ensure proper machine operation.
Prepare tools, dies, and fixtures for upcoming production runs.
Conduct visual inspections and basic quality checks during setup.
Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow 5S principles.
Document setup activities and report any issues to supervisors.
Support preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
