About The Position

The Four Slide Set up Tech B is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and the operation of one or more slide forming machines to automatically punch, cut, and form metal strips and wire by action of opposing rams to fabricate parts such as spring washers, brackets, and clips. This role also assumes responsibility for general housekeeping duties and striving toward continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SPC Training
  • Blueprint Reading
  • Sensor Training
  • Ability to enter data into automated systems (e.g., PLEX).
  • Use of measurement devices… Calipers, Micrometers, optical comparator, load testers
  • Computer skills
  • Blueprint reading and knowledge of GD+T
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve clearly defined issues.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is essential.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Managers, Supervisor, leads and other team members to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Identify all the major components of a fourslide.
  • Preventative maintenance of all machine lubrication systems.
  • Confirm proper operation of all safety devices.
  • Cleaning at or around machines.
  • Apply and conform to all SPC documentation.
  • Reset machines to achieve specified product dimensions.
  • Stock up machine.
  • Sharpen cut-off and reset to product dimensions.
  • Verify operation of all sensor devices.
  • Complete shifts production records (log book).
  • Pull tooling out of machines.
  • Setup and perform the inspection of profiles in shadow and in reflection. Optical Comparator.
  • Inspect Sample parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Apply and conform to all job instructions (QJI's).
