About The Position

Schaeffler is seeking a Set-up Operator I to set up and program operating machines, oversee their ramp-up, and support operators and maintenance in a manufacturing environment. The role includes verifying machine accuracy and effectiveness, following documented procedures, maintaining records, and checking finished products or components for approval. The operator must comply with safety and production rules and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to use measuring instruments and identify defects.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and write clear communications in English.
• Ability to operate complex machinery for inspection.
• Good visual acuity.
• Ability to lift medium-heavy objects if required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without an employment visa or other sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Multiple years of experience operating complex machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and program operating machines, including conducting accuracy and effectiveness checks in various test sequences.
• Oversee machine ramp-up after setup and support operators in operating the machines.
• Support maintenance with machine repairs, downtime prevention, and inspections.
• Follow documented procedures and processes and maintain accurate records and tracking.
• Check finished products or product components and submit them for approval.
• Follow safety and production rules and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
