This role is part of the Scout Motors team, aiming to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace. The position involves leading cross-functional discussions and alignment between various departments including production, quality, sales, marketing, purchasing, finance, product management, CAE, other R&D teams, and cross-system engineering partners, specifically focusing on chassis (suspension/wheels), braking, and steering systems. The lead will be responsible for triaging issues, prioritizing them, formally presenting DRE topics to cross-functional teams and upper management, and managing engineering tasks from a program management perspective. This includes organizing cross-functional teams and engineering resources as needed. The role also involves budget review with engineers to ensure accuracy and proper documentation of forecasts. Program management responsibilities include identifying timing issues, escalating them to management, and facilitating decision-making matrices when multiple directions exist. A key aspect of the role is fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement, while tracking progress and potential risks based on input from the engineering team.
