About The Position

This position is for a Sessional Lecturer for the course BCB410H1F – Applied Bioinformatics (50% FCE of Full Course). The course provides a practical introduction to concepts, standards, and tools for implementing strategies in bioinformatics and computational biology, featuring student-led discussions and hands-on exercises. The role involves delivering lectures prepared by other instructors, preparing and grading assignments, and holding office hours. The class schedule is Wednesdays, 10 am-12 pm. The sessional dates of appointment are September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The course has an estimated enrollment of 25 students. The position may be delivered online instead of in person.

Requirements

  • PhD in Bioinformatics or related field required
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching is required
  • R programming is required
