About The Position

This is a lecture course for approximately 30 students, examining a topic in modern art and/or architecture. The specific topic will vary from year to year and depends on the instructor. The estimated course enrollment is 35 students, with no estimated TA support. The class schedule is Monday from 1-3 pm. The sessional dates of appointment are from September 8 to December 8, 2026.

Requirements

  • Graduate degrees in Art History required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching a Modern topics course previously is desired.
  • Experience as a sole responsibility course instructor is an asset.
  • Please include a short course outline with your application.

Responsibilities

  • All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course material.
  • Preparation and delivery of assignments, tests and/or exams.
  • Supervision of teaching assistants.
  • Marking of students’ work.
  • Submission of grades to university officials.
  • Holding regular office hours.
  • Scheduling of guest speakers is limited to one week class session.
