About The Position

This course examines the Cold War through its global dimensions, going beyond the American-Soviet bipolar rivalry to explore the impact of the Cold War in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Students will work closely with original primary sources and interrogate historical interpretations of the Cold War through different regional and thematic perspectives.

Requirements

  • Master of Arts in History or related field required.
  • Mastery of the subject area as related to the course description above required.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in History preferred.
  • Demonstrated evidence of superior undergraduate teaching preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching a similar course is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Developing syllabus
  • Course preparation
  • Teaching two-hour classes weekly, in-person lectures
  • Marking
  • Supervision of TA(s) in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 Collective Agreement
  • Conducting scheduled office hours (1 hour/week)
