About The Position

This position is for a Sessional Instructional Assistant for the course CIN101H5F - Introduction to Cinema Studies. The course covers film analysis, concepts of film style and narrative, including topics such as documentary, avant-garde, genres, authorship, ideology, and representation. The estimated course enrollment is 460 students, with an estimated TA support of 9 TAs for approximately 140 hours. The class schedule includes lectures on Fridays from 11 am to 1 pm, tutorials from 1 pm to 5 pm, and practical sessions on Mondays from 6 pm to 9 pm. The sessional dates of appointment are from September 8 to December 8, 2026.

Requirements

• Graduate degrees in Cinema Studies is desired.
• Previous TA experience in a CIN course will be preferred.
