About The Position

Primary purpose is to efficiently manage Mortgage/Residential Construction member service activities. Responsible for all residential mortgage and HELOC loan servicing. Serves as liaison between members and servicing vendors. Ensures that service is delivered professionally and efficiently, and that members’ problems are resolved promptly. Ensures that members receive excellent service through available servicing channels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Familiarity with customer service.
  • MS Excel
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service related positions.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to use PC and basic business equipment.
  • Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.
  • Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; ratio and proportion and percentage.
  • Able to perform very simple algebra.
  • Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias.
  • Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis; correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent) and variation in word order; using present, perfect, and future tenses.

  • Residential Construction experience helpful.
  • Real Estate experience very helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for all day-to-day mortgage servicing activities.
  • Maintains relationship with mortgage subservicer and acts as liaison for escalated issues.
  • Manages daily data transfer between core system and subservicing system.
  • Stays apprised of investor servicing changes and regulatory changes impacting servicing of mortgage products.
  • Monitors and evaluates the mortgage experience to ensure superior member service.
  • Properly handles all maintenance and boarding of loans requests in accordance with UCCU policy and investor requirements.
  • Properly handles removal of Mortgage Insurance in accordance with UCCU policy and investor requirements.
  • Processing up and submitting Subordinations, Reconveyances, and Assumptions.
  • Handles all forms of communication with subservicer DMI.
  • ACH Set up, online banking questions, payoff, updating insurance (Escrow and Flood Insurance.) Generating mortgage payoffs and HELOC payoffs and sending them to insurance companies or borrowers. PMI removal, send out Mortgage release documents to DMI.
  • Sending in HELOC and Mortgage requests to the UCCU inspector, completed inspections to appraisal review. Outsource inspections and appraisals as necessary.
  • Daily wires to ensure mortgage payments are being applied to mortgage payments, review fee waivers, and reversals.
  • Assumes responsibility for ensuring that professional business relations exist with members, vendors, and trade professionals.
  • Ensures that requests and questions are promptly and courteously resolved.
  • Ensures that members are properly informed of Credit Union loan policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that the Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained both internally and externally.
  • Represents the Credit Union in contacts with business and trade professionals.
  • Communicates effectively with loan originators, investors, and vendors.
  • Responds in a timely manner to originator requests.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Credit Union personnel and with management.
  • Develops a solid understanding of the business and its functions, processes and operations.
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as required.
  • Assists and supports personnel as needed.
  • Completes reports and records.
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Stays informed regarding developments and changes in the mortgage field.
  • Assists with publicity, education, and promotion of the Credit Union. Cross-sells services.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Works a regular and predictable schedule.
  • Must be sufficiently fluent in English to process work and business transactions.
