About The Position

The Services Supervisor at Frontier Technologies is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing and executing advanced mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance and repair operations. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, reliability, and the ability to mentor and lead a team of Services Technicians I, 2 & 3. A strong commitment to quality and safety is a must. The Services Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Service Technicians, ensuring that all tasks are performed efficiently and safely. They will be accountable for the output, efficiency, quality, and schedule (on-time delivery) for assigned service tasks. This role involves training new technicians through on-the-job training (OJT), job safety analyses (JSAs), and by adhering to established policies and procedures for internal purposes and customer requirements. The supervisor will work alongside the team to maximize production, monitor and evaluate the performance of team members, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews, and manage employee timecards, attendance, and disciplinary actions. Effective communication with coworkers utilizing Microsoft Office and ERP systems is essential for seamless coordination across departments. The role requires the ability to create detailed step-by-step instructions on paper for service technicians to follow. Travel to customer facilities to perform onsite maintenance, identify and solve customer problems, and provide technical support is also a key responsibility. The Services Supervisor will communicate professionally with customers via email, phone calls, Teams meetings, and in person to facilitate production and customer satisfaction, and adhere to company, OSHA, and EHS guidelines. Training teams on safety procedures and holding high standards for safety for team members, while holding them accountable for non-compliance, is crucial. Availability for mandatory overtime and weekends when customer needs arise is expected, ensuring that production schedules and customer requirements are met. This includes on-site visits to customer facilities and wind farms. The role involves moving and packaging material throughout the facility using forklifts, 65k forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, ensuring efficient and safe handling of all materials. Performing quality checks on work projects to ensure products meet quality standards and identify defects is required, ensuring all work adheres to company and industry standards. Partnering with the quality team to assure all parts are conforming to industry and customer standards and collaborating with the quality department are also part of the role. Professionally documenting inspection and repair reports, maintaining accurate records of all work performed, and following the work instructions process through the facility while training Service Techs on how to complete their work orders are essential. Troubleshooting work assignments and projects to accurately deliver products per customer needs, and optimizing the production schedule to meet on-time delivery dates for projects are key functions. The Services Supervisor will perform basic to advanced mechanical installations, maintenance operations, preventative maintenance, and upgrades on wind energy and other industrial parts. Repairing, replacing, and inspecting customer parts, ensuring all work meets customer expectations and job instructions, is required. Designing, enforcing, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area is also part of the responsibilities. The role includes prepping and sandblasting, zinc spraying, and industrial painting of parts and components to meet industrial standards. The ability to read, interpret, and follow basic and advanced blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written work instructions or procedures is necessary. Proficiency in using a variety of handheld and power tools such as drills, grinders, tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and gauges is required. Using standard and metric quality measurements on parts and blueprints to accurately complete job duties per customer specifications is essential. Maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems daily for wind turbine components and expanding industries is a core function. Assisting Services Technicians in daily production and measuring and optimizing daily throughput are also expected. Other job duties as directed by the Services Manager or Engineering Department may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Perform basic and advanced Math skills
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Passion for doing a job well
  • A “self-motivated” team player
  • Able to work effectively in South Alabama climate conditions
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, crawl, squat, and climb without tiring easily
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations
