$75 - $100Remote

About The Position

Project Healthy Minds is a mental health nonprofit that runs like a tech startup, aiming to make finding mental health services as easy as booking a flight or restaurant reservation. They are building the world's first digital marketplace for mental health services. This role is a six-month engagement to build a new set of mental health services for their platform, upgrading the existing schema and curation pipeline. The lead will oversee the candidacy -> screening -> tagging pipeline, direct a small team of specialists, and collaborate with product, engineering, and service partners to improve the platform's offerings. A key deliverable is a documented, repeatable process. The role reports to the VP of Product.

Requirements

  • A working understanding of healthcare services data, ideally mental health specific, including consumer needs, data sources, and change frequency.
  • Strong data-schema and data-modeling judgment, with experience evolving schemas and understanding of what not to include.
  • Fluency in Postgres/SQL.
  • Instinct for how data fits into a product, reasoning from consumer needs to data supply.
  • Real experience running data operations with a human-in-the-loop or annotation component, including directing distributed specialists to a quality bar.
  • Experience owning KPIs for data accuracy and freshness and demonstrating improvements.
  • Quality-systems and taxonomy thinking; ability to write SOPs.
  • Comfortable working across product, engineering, and external partners.
  • Comfortable moving fast with limited scaffolding.

Nice To Haves

  • AI- / LLM-assisted curation workflows.
  • HL7, FHIR, or other health-data interoperability standards.
  • Experience building or maintaining a services dataset or provider directory.

Responsibilities

  • Steward and evolve the services data schema & taxonomy, providing input on additions, shifts, and their sourcing/maintenance costs, considering downstream data consumption.
  • Own and iterate the curation pipeline (sourcing, screening, and tagging) to improve efficiency, speed, and automation.
  • Direct a small bench of data specialists, setting quality standards, writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and overseeing the team to build a substantial batch of services.
  • Work at the nexus of design, product, engineering, and service partners to identify high-value fields, refine candidacy review processes, and collaborate on data presentation to users.
  • Advise on internal tooling for admin, ingestion, dedup, and QA workflows, identifying impactful improvements.
  • Document a transferable and clear playbook for future use.

Benefits

  • Hourly rate between $75 and $100, depending on experience, skills, and other relevant considerations.
  • Short paid work sample.
