About The Position

This role focuses on designing, engineering, configuring, and supporting the CMDB functionality within a complex ServiceNow platform. The engineer will build CMDB solutions aligned with best practices, performance standards, and long-term roadmaps, while also supporting advanced ServiceNow capabilities like Now Assist and AI-driven features. A key aspect of the role is ensuring the stability, security, resilience, and scalability of CMDB-related services. The position also involves providing engineering coverage for broader platform teams, accelerating delivery of enhancements and fixes, reducing technical debt, and supporting operational excellence for CMDB services. Cross-team collaboration with governance, operations, platform, and client teams is essential to translate requirements into enterprise-grade technical implementations. The engineer will act as a trusted advisor for CMDB design decisions and roadmap planning, enabling safe and scalable adoption of new ServiceNow capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
  • Three years of service assets and configuration management experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Deep, hands-on experience engineering solutions on the ServiceNow platform, with strong CMDB expertise.
  • Proven ability to design and support scalable, enterprise-grade platform solutions.
  • Experience supporting ServiceNow implementations, upgrades, and new feature adoption.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner effectively with governance, product, and operational teams.
  • Comfort working in environments with high platform demand and competing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience with AI-driven features, automation, integrations, or performance optimization within ServiceNow.
  • Background supporting CMDB-related initiatives such as discovery, data quality, and platform scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, configure, and support CMDB functionality within an increasingly complex ServiceNow platform landscape.
  • Build CMDB solutions aligned with ServiceNow best practices, performance standards, and long-term platform roadmaps.
  • Support the implementation, optimization, and adoption of advanced ServiceNow capabilities, including Now Assist and AI-driven features.
  • Ensure CMDB-related services remain stable, secure, resilient, and scalable as adoption and dependency continue to grow.
  • Provide dedicated engineering coverage where broader ServiceNow platform teams are capacity constrained.
  • Accelerate delivery by reducing cycle time for enhancements, fixes, upgrades, and client requests impacting CMDB-dependent workflows.
  • Identify and reduce technical debt to improve maintainability, reliability, and future extensibility of the platform.
  • Support ongoing operational excellence for CMDB-related services.
  • Partner closely with CMDB governance, operations, platform, and client teams to translate requirements into durable, enterprise-grade technical implementations.
  • Act as a trusted engineering advisor for CMDB-related design decisions, trade-offs, and roadmap planning.
  • Enable safe and scalable adoption of new ServiceNow capabilities across the organization.
