About The Position

Boomi is seeking a senior technical authority on ServiceNow to act as the architect who translates business requirements into scalable platform solutions, governs how the platform is built, and ensures every technical decision serves the long-term health of the ecosystem. The primary focus is on architecture: defining standards, shaping requirements before they become implementations, and designing solutions that Boomi's development team can build with confidence. While hands-on engagement is expected when necessary, the role's main function is guiding the development process. This position is central to a major platform initiative: replacing Boomi's current CRM, CPQ, and PRM applications with ServiceNow CRM, CPQ, and PRM. The architectural decisions made will shape Boomi's operations for years to come. The ideal candidate possesses deep ServiceNow platform expertise, strong technical judgment, and the ability to guide the business toward the optimal solution, not just the requested one. Prior CRM & CPQ experience is not a prerequisite, as the role involves learning these areas over time and becoming an expert, with support from team members. Key responsibilities include defining and maintaining the technical architecture for Boomi's ServiceNow ecosystem (CSM, SPM, CM Pro, and the CRM, CPQ, PRM suite) in partnership with the Platform Owner. The role involves working directly with business stakeholders and product owners to translate requirements into technical designs and ServiceNow configurations, identifying when requirements need shaping or redirection. Establishing and enforcing development standards, code reviews, and technical best practices across all teams touching the platform is crucial to minimize technical debt and ensure maintainability. The architect will define Boomi's instance strategy, including environment usage, release cadence, and upgrade management. Designing complex integrations, custom applications, and automated workflows, and leading solutioning for the CRM/CPQ replacement initiative are also key duties. Staying abreast of ServiceNow releases and new features like Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Process Mining to drive adoption strategies is expected. Furthermore, the role involves mentoring developers, establishing the technical bar, and building internal ServiceNow expertise to reduce reliance on external consultants.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of ServiceNow experience in architect-level roles, primarily as an in-house role (non-contractor/consultant) with a track record of owning platform technical strategy and governance, not just delivering projects.
  • Experience across multiple modules and the ability to navigate the full platform stack.
  • Ability to distinguish between a customization that serves the business and one that creates long-term upgrade challenges.
  • Ability to guide stakeholders toward the right technical solution, even when it differs from their initial request.
  • Deep experience designing enterprise integrations - LDAP, SSO, SCIM, Mid-Servers, and REST/SOAP - with a focus on scalable patterns.
  • Strong command of CMDB/CSDM, Flow Designer, scoped application development, and performance governance.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and business requirements into actionable platform designs.
  • Excellent mentorship abilities and a track record of developing developer teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the technical architecture for Boomi's ServiceNow ecosystem - CSM, SPM, CM Pro, and the CRM, CPQ, PRM suite.
  • Own the technical direction in close partnership with the Platform Owner.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders and product owners to take in requirements and translate them into technical designs and ServiceNow configurations.
  • Identify when a requirement needs to be shaped or redirected before it becomes a bad implementation.
  • Establish and enforce development standards, code reviews, and technical best practices across every team that touches the platform - minimizing technical debt and keeping the platform upgradeable and maintainable.
  • Define Boomi's instance strategy - how many environments, what each sandbox is used for, what the release and promotion cadence looks like, and how we manage platform upgrades without disruption to the business.
  • Lead the design of complex integrations, custom applications, and automated workflows across modules (CSM, CRM, CPQ etc.).
  • Lead solutioning for the CRM/CPQ replacement initiative alongside product and business stakeholders.
  • Stay ahead of ServiceNow releases (e.g., Australia, Brazil) to evaluate new features like Generative AI, Agentic AI and Process Mining - and drive a deliberate point of view on what Boomi should adopt, and when.
  • Mentor developers, establish the technical bar, and build internal ServiceNow expertise so Boomi grows less dependent on external consultants over time.
