About The Position

Leidos is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to join our Strategic Operations Project Team that is chartered to transition AFDW ITSM BMC Helix to ServiceNow. As a ServiceNow Developer, you will be the hands-on engineering force behind the IT Service Management (ITSM) modernization efforts for the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) and the Department of the Air Force (DAF). Working in close coordination with architects and business stakeholders, you will build, configure, and deploy the automated workflows, custom applications, and system integrations that replace legacy, siloed processes. Your ability to write clean code, establish modern API integrations, and leverage ServiceNow out-of-the-box capabilities is vital to delivering secure, efficient, and user-centric solutions that directly support DAF mission readiness and day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or a Masters degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Current DoD Secret clearance.
  • At least 4 years of ServiceNow development and scripting experience (JavaScript, Glide APIs, HTML, XML), with deep proficiency in Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and API integrations.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer, required.
  • Strong expertise in ITAM (SAM/HAM) and ITOM (CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping) modules.
  • Proven experience in large-scale ServiceNow implementations and platform governance.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow Suite (ITSM, ITOM, ITAM), workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and portal development)
  • Knowledge of AI integration within ServiceNow, including Now Assist and AI Agents.

  • ITIL v4 Foundations Certification.
  • Advanced ServiceNow Certifications: Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, codes, debugs, documents, deploys, and maintains solutions on the ServiceNow platform in a highly efficient and effective manner.
  • Develops and configures ServiceNow to automate internal Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes, ensuring operational efficiency across IT and business workflows.
  • Executes platform engineering (cloud-hosted and/or on-premise) focusing on ITSM Modules including Service Request, Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management, alongside security and regulatory disciplines.
  • Optimizes ServiceNow data models and table structures while actively participating in and applying strict coding standards and conventions to support consistency across the development team.
  • Reviews and applies requirements from internal and external teams, partnering closely with the business and IT to gather inputs and translate them into actionable ServiceNow configurations and implementations.
  • Assists with technical design, comprehensive documentation, and the secure migration of changes to production environments.
  • Build and enhance SAM Pro, HAM Pro, and SaaS Management modules, including normalization, reconciliation, entitlement models, and license metrics.
  • Create integrations with third-party tools (e.g., BellManage, SolarWinds, Xerox, LDAP, Forescout, Intune, AWS, Azure) using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and MID Servers.
  • Performs data loading and mapping; creates and enhances dashboards, ad-hoc reports, custom views, and scheduled jobs to track critical system metrics.
  • Use Flow Designer, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and Scoped Apps to automate asset lifecycle processes (e.g., receiving, assignment, disposal).
  • Carry out unit testing and resolve defects to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Partners closely with the business and IT teams gather input to support ongoing business needs for ServiceNow configuration, implementation, and support.
  • Schedules, installations, and tests system software upgrade.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
  • Prepare technical and user documentation, and provide knowledge transfer to new team members.
