As a ServiceNow Associate Software Engineer in our Corporate IT division, you'll be at the heart of designing, developing, and supporting business-critical applications that power Sun Life's operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Recent graduates with 0–2 years of internship/co-op experience, OR professionals with 3–5 years of software development or application support experience
  • Hands-on programming experience with languages like JavaScript, Python, or similar
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, shell scripting)
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts (Agile, DevOps)
  • Sharp problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Genuine passion for learning new technologies and tools
  • Clear communicator who thrives in collaborative teams
  • Team player with a customer-first mindset

  • ServiceNow development experience (scripts, UI policies, security rules)
  • Third-party risk management knowledge
  • Exposure to financial systems or enterprise applications

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and integration solutions
  • Translate business and technical requirements into effective solution designs
  • Write, maintain, and optimize code, scripts, and automation tools
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders—to deliver real results
  • Participate fully in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Provide hands-on application support, resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues
  • Contribute to clear system and project documentation
  • Champion security, compliance, and change management best practices
  • Identify and drive automation opportunities that enhance efficiency
  • Join rotational on-call support to ensure production systems run smoothly
