About The Position

Responsible for performing skilled work in the construction, maintenance and repair of energized and de-energized overhead and underground electrical service/secondary lines. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Installing and removing overhead services, connecting and disconnecting overhead and underground service/secondary lines, opening and closing line and transformer fuses and switches, work trouble calls and make emergency repairs on energized secondary and de-energized primary conductors and equipment.

Requirements

• 2 years minimum electric distribution service or construction experience required
• Must be qualified to work on energized low voltages of up to 600 volts without direct supervision
• Must be able to climb wood poles
• Must be able to operate a bucket truck
• Must be able to perform pole top rescues
• Must follow all safe work practices
• Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and comprehend English
• Must have a high level of attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Must be computer literate
• Required to have and maintain valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
• Must be able to move freely, including ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of meter service construction specifications for all voltage up to 600 volts preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of single phase and three phase low voltage and metering specification preferred
• State wide travel preferable
• Class A CDL Preferred
