About The Position

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in vehicle/construction equipment or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • A high degree of attention to detail on all best practices and procedures, and deadline driven.
  • Ability to operate a fork-lift in a safe effective manner in accordance with the safety policy.
  • Ability to effectively handle lifting of various objects weighting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use standard computer functions, including (but not limited to); CDK, Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates services and repairs by ascertaining problems and services requested.
  • Verifies warranty and service contract coverage.
  • Develops estimates and writes repair orders.
  • Maintains customer rapport and records.
  • Assigns jobs to technicians based on shop flow, tech availability, knowledge, and skill.
  • Completes work order process and invoices customers.
  • Assigns jobs and work areas to Service Technicians according to their skills and knowledge, and stays informed throughout the day of each technician’s progress.
  • Schedules service calls for all Road Service Technicians according to their skill levels and the most economical practices for Vermeer.
  • Proactively seeks customer feedback, anticipates problems, and responds promptly.
  • Constantly communicates with customers on the status of their machine.
  • Reviews all repair work orders for accuracy and completeness concerning parts, materials, and labor.
  • Approves the release of equipment for customer pick up.
  • Advises Service Manager of all customer complaints.
  • Meets with Service Manager on a regular basis to review department performance profitability, efficiencies, and personnel matters.
  • Maintains technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within the dealership’s area of responsibility.
  • Participates in all company/location driven communication efforts, including huddles, department meetings, and other related efforts.
