Solenis is looking for a Service Technician who will support the sales and service efforts in the Houston/Freeport, TX areas! They will be responsible for conducting water sampling and basic lab tests, maintenance and installation of equipment, chemical transfers and process monitoring in refining and petrochemical facilities. They will be required to keep detailed records of inventory, report out results, and work safely.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years experience working on mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Chemical handling experience desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • The primary resource who performs routine testing and monitoring at the customer site including data entry and contributes to service report preparation
  • Interfaces with the customer to understand any issues with chemicals or equipment
  • Manages product inventory at the customer including deliveries to process units and offloading to customer tanks, and adjusts chemical feed levels to meet optimal chemical performance based on routine testing and monitoring
  • Alerts the site manager or support engineer of any problems or opportunities with the customer and begins to troubleshoot issues
  • Conducts expanded testing of process variables to identify dosage improvements or mechanical impacts
  • Specs out, sets up, maintains and troubleshoots monitoring and feed equipment
  • Works with the site team and customers to ensure optimal program performance
  • Completes mechanical and electrical equipment repairs including pump changes and calibration of automation equipment
