About The Position

The Service Technician at Hendrick Subaru (Hoover) is responsible for identifying necessary vehicle service and performing the repair, service, and/or maintenance work. This role involves examining customer vehicles, identifying necessary repairs, estimating costs, and performing the work efficiently according to dealership and manufacturer guidelines. The technician will document services, request parts, and utilize available technologies to enhance customer experience. Maintaining Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) at or above Company standards, keeping an organized, clean, and safe work area, and participating in required training are also key aspects. Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems
  • Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge
  • Technical training or commensurate technical experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Automotive field of study/work experience
  • 5+ years of desired work experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Certified/senior technician with respective manufacturer
  • State inspection/emissions license required by State
  • All required manufacturer fundamental training and/or NAPA training provided by HAG
  • Meets and/or exceeds manufacturer requirements for ASE tests
  • Completed manufacturer training to perform: warranty repairs/recalls on most vehicles, PDI’s, maintenance, and minor repairs
  • Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system
  • Ability to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations
  • Ability to understand and follow technical manuals
