Requirements

  • Eight thousand (8,000) hours experience required to acquire necessary skills and techniques, knowledge of designs, materials and equipment, methods and procedures utilized.
  • Vocational or high school graduate plus a formal training program or equivalent on-the-job training required to obtain sufficient knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles, applications, and sequences.
  • Must be a sole US citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, evaluate, repair, and reassemble generators that are returned to Kato Engineering for repair, refurbishment, or warranty.
  • Interface with customers both in the field and at the Company.
  • Make decision as to disposition of parts.
  • Travel from twenty (20) percent to fifty (50) percent of the time with a Senior Service Technician in the field.
  • Will be required to use all appropriate tools.
  • Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn stator winding and hookup (including electrical testing); rotor winding, hookup, assembly, and balance (including electrical testing); assembly of generators; testing of generators and aligning and coupling generators.
  • Performs other duties as designated by supervisor in the same salary grade or below.
  • If desired by the employee and deemed beneficial by the Company, any employee in this classification may, upon certification, obtain a forklift license and be permitted to operate a gas or electric powered forklift truck to move material within their department and classification.
