About The Position

The Carrier Transicold Service Technician is responsible for investigating and diagnosing issues with transportation refrigeration units, assisting with repairs and preventative maintenance, and providing excellent customer service. This role also involves assisting with the installation of refrigeration units, fuel systems, and auxiliary power units (APUs). The technician is expected to maintain a clean and safe shop environment and contribute to the organization of shop and outside areas. Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
1-year mechanical experience, required
Valid Indiana driver license, required
Willingness to take instructions, directions and be a strong team player
Effective leadership skills: Verbal Listening Communication Decision making Problem solving Time management
The ability to work with little or no supervision
Good attendance record

Nice To Haves

1-year refrigeration experience, preferred
3 years diesel experience, preferred
12-volt electrical knowledge, preferred

Responsibilities

Follow company safety processes and procedures
Investigate and Diagnose issues
Assist on regular repair or preventative maintenance
Communicate well and participate as a team member
Provide excellent customer service
Assist on installation/repairs of transportation refrigeration units, including fuel tanks and lines, interior chute systems, satellite systems, door switches and fuel level sensors
Perform pre-delivery inspections
Perform PM Services
Assist in the installation of APUs (Auxiliary power units)
Maintain a clean and safe shop, including emptying trash, sweeping and scrubbing floors, and organizing the shop
Assist in maintaining outside areas and keep organized
