About The Position
The Service Technician performs unskilled maintenance activities requiring basic labor skills, typically developed on the job, and may assist higher-level mechanics or skilled-trade personnel with more difficult, complex, or larger maintenance projects. The role supports Curia’s pharmaceutical and biotechnology research and manufacturing operations in Rensselaer, New York. The position carries out general and routine equipment maintenance, groundskeeping, tool care, and other assigned tasks. Work must be performed safely, in compliance with Curia-Rensselaer safety and environmental programs, and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices for active pharmaceutical intermediates. The technician is also expected to support quality improvements and participate in self-development and training activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to follow FDA manufacturing guidelines.

- Advanced degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Assist skilled-trades personnel as needed.
- Assist equipment operators in moving heavy furniture and equipment.
- Perform grounds maintenance, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and snow removal.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment.
- Disassemble machinery and equipment as needed.
- Sand and prepare surfaces for painting.
- Clean and maintain tools.
- Keep simple records of activities and time spent.
- Perform all duties safely in accordance with the Curia-Rensselaer Safety Program.
- Perform duties within the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices for active pharmaceutical intermediates.
- Perform duties in an environmentally compliant manner in accordance with the Curia-Rensselaer Environmental Program.
- Recommend and implement methods to improve product and/or service quality.
- Participate in self-development activities and training others.
- Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as required or reasonably assigned in the course of business.
