About The Position
Prater Industries, a leader in airlocks, mills, and separators since 1925, is seeking a hands-on Lab/Service Technician to join our Operations department. In this dual-focus role, you will be instrumental in testing equipment to support sales and engineering while providing expert technical service to our customers both locally and internationally.
Requirements
- Self-motivated team player who enjoys mechanical work and problem-solving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experienced with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Thorough understanding of OSHA requirements and safety best practices.
- Forklift experience and certification are required.
- Must possess a valid passport with no restrictions for international travel.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Nice To Haves
- Additional certifications are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Performing routine tests on Prater equipment and prototypes.
- Operating laboratory tools such as vac-screens, weigh scale balances, Ro-taps, and Malvern particle analyzers.
- Gathering and documenting test results on laboratory computers and performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Troubleshooting technical problems and performing maintenance on equipment at our facility and customer sites.
- Assisting customers with the setup and startup of new equipment and systems.
- Assisting in the operation of toll facilities and performing simple plumbing and electrical wiring to support testing.
