About The Position
Southern Tire Mart is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of our clients' fleets by providing expert tire services and mechanical repairs. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling a variety of vehicles, from passenger cars to large industrial trucks, and possess a strong understanding of commercial vehicle systems. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of mechanical issues, conducting inspections, and responding to roadside service calls. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred.
Responsibilities
- Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including: Commercial Tires, HVAC systems, Brakes, Steering & Suspension, PM Inspections, Drivetrain, and Electrical Systems.
- Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
- Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.
- Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.
- Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
- Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.
- Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
