Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • One year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school
  • Minimum of two years related experience and/or training
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventative maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guideline.
  • Diagnosing and repairing various truck systems using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, and jacks and hoists.
  • Ensuring that repairs are completed with complete and accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
  • Maintaining correct time punches and work order processes.
  • Maintaining efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
  • Tagging all parts as required and following all warranty procedures set for the by each OEM.
  • Test driving trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Keeping work area clean and free of debris.
  • Maintaining Shop tooling and equipment.
  • Performing various daily inspections on shop equipment.
  • Steaming and prepping vehicles for delivery or major repair.
  • Moving and maintaining stock vehicles on site.
  • Keeping customer vehicles clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
  • Completing 100% of on-line Freightliner Technician Training to become Systems Certified in Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, DT12, Detroit Axles, CNG Systems within specified time.
