About The Position

Syntegon Telstar S.R.U. is a company of the Syntegon group, which operates worldwide. As a brand specialized in the development of GMP projects of consulting, engineering, construction and integrated process equipment, we serve companies linked to the life sciences market (pharmaceutical and biotechnology, healthcare, cosmetics, veterinary and food industries), as well as hospitals, laboratories and research centers. We also offer solutions with the application of vacuum and high vacuum technologies for traditional and high-tech industries in the energy and aerospace sectors, as well as scientific experimentation. This position is regionally based and involves frequent travel to customer sites across the West Coast. Please note that there is no fixed office at the address listed above. Your primary focus in this role is to provide customers with excellent technical customer service and ensure complete satisfaction. Responsibilities include installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, analyzing, while maintaining, repairing, and training of Syntegon Telstar equipment and associated products.

Requirements

  • Technical education or 5+ years of hands‑on field service / maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities; safe working practices.
  • Experience with industrial equipment in regulated environments (pharma, biotech, food).
  • Basic PLC diagnostics and understanding of GMP documentation.
  • Independent working style, strong communication skills, customer‑focused mindset.
  • Valid driver’s licence and passport.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%, including international destinations.
  • Work in tight quarters; on top of and underneath equipment.
  • Stand, stoop, kneel and bend continuously while working on equipment (66% of the time).
  • Lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Submit to safety, background and drug/alcohol testing as required by customers and wear personal protective equipment as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience servicing equipment such as lyophilizers, sterilizers, isolators, or containment systems.
  • Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environments.
  • Ability to read basic ladder logic or fault diagnostics.
  • Multi-lingual (Spanish, German, or French) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, start-up, commissioning, and service of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
  • Execute preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency repairs on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot motors, pumps, valves, sensors, heaters, PLC I/O, HMIs, and related control components
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions
  • Support customer operations by providing equipment operation guidance and basic training.
