About The Position
Service Technician Apprentices’ primary responsibility is to have the background and aptitude to learn the skills to provide quality installations, maintenance, and repairs of overhead material handling equipment. This will include breakdowns that require troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components and circuits. A person who has some maintenance/electrical background and education would be a great fit for this position.
Requirements
- A mechanical/electrical background and/or education is preferred.
- Experience with a variety of basic hand tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work with customers, internal /external partners/vendors.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic environment in which fast response is normal.
- Ensure we maintain a professional, safe, productive, and compliant work environment.
- Not afraid of heights.
- A passion for providing top-notch customer service to our customers.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet our driving requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with metal fabrication and machining is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, inspection, and repairs on overhead cranes
- Perform electrical & mechanical troubleshooting
- Work from heights
- Ensure professionalism and a high customer service
- Work as the assistant technician on large mechanical repair jobs
- Work along as “On the Job Training” for inspections, hoist teardowns, and large service jobs
