Dutch Miller Ford is seeking a motivated and dependable Apprentice Technician to join our service team. The Apprentice Technician will assist in performing maintenance and repairs, learn dealership service procedures, and develop the skills necessary to become a certified automotive technician. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous automotive experience or technical training is a plus but not required.
  • Strong interest in automotive repair and technology.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair work as assigned under the guidance of experienced technicians.
  • Learn dealership service processes and procedures.
  • Assist with vehicle inspections and basic diagnostic procedures.
  • Test-drive vehicles with appropriate supervision when required.
  • Learn to use Ford diagnostic equipment, special service tools, and repair information systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, battery testing, and multi-point inspections.
  • Assist in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle systems including: Engines, Transmissions, Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Electrical Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning Systems.
  • Communicate findings and repair needs to service advisors and team leaders.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow all manufacturer, dealership, and safety guidelines.
  • Complete assigned Ford training and certification requirements.
  • Assist with warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
