About The Position

Service Technicians inspect modular buildings and perform repairs and readiness work on WillScot’s fleet. Work includes framing and finish carpentry, light electrical work, flooring, plumbing, painting, running gear, HVAC checks and maintenance, and other modular-building repairs. The role requires an eye for quality and a commitment to safety. Technicians may also perform service tasks in the yard or at field locations as business needs require.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Some computer knowledge.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers, salespeople, contractors, shop personnel, and company employees at various branch locations.
• Carpentry knowledge and experience.
• Current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety, transportation, and environmental policies.
• Promote employee health and safety through workplace safety practices, training, observations, and scheduled branch assessments.
• Attend periodic safety meetings and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Operate a company vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record free from points.
• Repair mobile office trailers, including framing and finish carpentry, electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, running gear, and other modular-building repairs.
• Inspect buildings being checked in or out of rental to determine repair scope and customer-invoiceable damage; create floor plan drawings as needed.
• Perform customer-requested modifications.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, parts, and VAPS needed for service tasks.
• Provide courteous customer service in person and over the phone, and explain repairs and services to customers.
• Ensure trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates and meet stated quality levels.
• Perform service-related tasks in the yard and, as business needs require, at field locations.
• Complete paperwork for deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls.
• Perform HVAC system checks and maintenance according to company guidelines.
