About The Position

The Service Specialist is an entry-level store position with opportunities for growth and learning within The Save Mart Companies’ grocery businesses. Service Specialists support efficient front-end operations by providing friendly, fast, and effective customer service. The role aims to create a welcoming and helpful store atmosphere and encourage loyal, repeat customers. Hiring pay range: $12.00–$12.25 per hour.

Requirements

• No experience required.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Ability to walk, stand, reach, and bend continuously.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Strong team player with a willingness and desire to learn and work hard.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers, offer assistance, remain approachable and friendly, and take extra steps to ensure customers are cared for.
• Perform store sweeps, especially around the front end and entrances, keeping floors free of spills and debris to help maintain a safe environment.
• Clean registers and belts routinely, empty check-stand trash cans, and dust and face shelves.
• Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and keep the lot free of carts throughout the shift.
• Perform price checks and assist with go-backs by returning items to their correct locations, prioritizing perishables.
• Help clerks move lines quickly during busy periods by bagging groceries efficiently and protecting the quality and condition of items.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
