About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Daytime Part-Time Service Shop Technician to join their team. This role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and assembling various customer and store equipment, including bicycles, exercise machines, sporting goods, and more. The technician will also be responsible for ordering repair parts, filling CO2 and compressed air tanks, maintaining records, and assisting with equipment delivery and loading. The position requires the ability to interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions, and flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, within operating hours of 9 am to 9 pm Monday-Saturday and 11 am to 6 pm Sunday.

Requirements

Possess a clean, valid driver’s license.
Willing to obtain DOT certification.
Meet Scheels driving standards.
Mechanical knowledge is preferred.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Follow all safety procedures and perform job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Responsibilities

Accurately diagnose and provide maintenance and assembly of customer and store equipment (bicycles, exercise machines, snowboards, skis, hockey skates and sticks, baseball gloves and bats, golf clubs, racquet sports, archery arrows, paintball markers, and other merchandise).
Order and follow up with vendors for repair parts.
Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers.
Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment.
Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Must be flexible to work assigned schedules between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am and 6 pm on Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
