About The Position

Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Performs minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements following company guidelines on all Walmart equipment (e.g., trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles) by creating and processing work orders, performing minor diagnostics with technical and electronic equipment on the various Walmart equipment (e.g., tractor engine components, electronics, drive trains, minor HVAC), assessing maintenance, repair, and replacement needs, identifying needed parts and possible solutions, consulting with others, and selecting the best possible solution. Conducts repairs and replacements (e.g., repair drivetrain components, repairing and replacing communication equipment and onboard technology, tractor and minor trailer diagnostics of HVAC systems) following company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines and requirements. Communicates with individuals or groups (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates) verbally and in writing. Receives fuel drops and conducts fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance, following procedures for fuel additives, monitoring tank levels before and after the drop, collecting and preparing fuel samples for analysis and shipping, and completing appropriate paperwork. Correctly identifies and performs warrantable repairs by entering accurate information on the condition, cause, and correction into the maintenance system, completing warranty tags as needed, and ensuring parts are retained according to warranty guidelines and creating and processing warranty claims to ensure proper credit is received according to company guidelines. Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
  • Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.
