About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Service Shop Lead who will be responsible for growing labor sales through quality and efficient service and assembly of customer and store equipment. This role involves maintaining safety standards, ordering parts, providing exceptional customer service, and creating training plans for new associates. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be an approved driver through DOT & Scheels driving standards
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.
  • Leaders are expected to enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Encourage associates to report any safety concerns, near misses, or incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Grow labor sales through quality and efficient service and assembly of customer and store equipment, including: bicycles, exercise machines, snowboards, skis, hockey skates and sticks, baseball gloves and bats, golf clubs, racquet sports, paintball markers, etc.
  • Maintain safety standards in the service shop, including the ability to fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers, sharpeners, knowledge of age requirements, and restrictions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to communicate with different associates on product needs and maintenance
  • Leads productivity, cleanliness, and safety in the service shop
  • Orders parts and needed supplies within budget
  • Ability to communicate with different types of personalities
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment
  • Provide exceptional customer service at the service shop counter while efficiently and accurately checking in and out merchandise, and promoting the Scheels Visa program to the customer
  • Create a training plan for new associates and monitor continued training for all shop associates
  • Ability to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, holidays, and scheduled training meetings
