About The Position

United Mechanical is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented college student for a summer internship in San Jose. The Service Sales Intern will gain hands-on exposure to the business side of commercial HVAC, working with Account Managers, Service Coordinators, Service Sales, and Service Operations professionals. The role supports proposals, customer service, project coordination, and administrative activities while providing experience in sales, business operations, and mechanical construction. No prior HVAC experience is necessary.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to learn.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• A proactive, positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Interest in learning about sales, customer relationships, and business operations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous internship, part-time work, or customer service experience.
• Interest in the construction, mechanical, or commercial HVAC industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist Account Managers with preparing estimates, proposals, and sales orders for preventative maintenance agreements, repairs, and equipment replacements.
• Work with Service Sales and Operations to support customer needs and help keep projects moving forward.
• Communicate with internal teams and external customers while supporting customer relationships and service.
• Help prepare product and equipment submittals, organize documentation, and support sales and administrative activities.
• Learn how sales, operations, and project coordination work together to deliver commercial HVAC service.
