About The Position

KONE is seeking a Service Repair Superintendent for their Phoenix, AZ location. This role involves directing workers on elevator and escalator repair projects, supervising work performance and manpower qualifications, and ensuring mechanics comply with reporting procedures. The ideal candidate will be familiar with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and committed to providing strong leadership, supervision, and communication to their team and customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive and successful experience in the elevator or related industry.
  • Minimum two-year college level degree and/or equivalent combination of technical and management experience in elevator/escalator or related industry.
  • Familiarity with electrical mechanical and hydraulic systems as applied in industry transportation and/or conveyance systems.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the service area (including occasional overnight stays).
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varied environments.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze technical documents, construction drawings, schematics, business procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written reports, correspondence, and presentations to managers, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to apply mathematical and problem-solving skills to real-world situations, including interpreting data, making decisions, and resolving complex issues with limited standardization.

Responsibilities

  • Profitable operation of a Branch Office Repair Business.
  • Direct supervision of all related repair activity, union and non-union personnel.
  • Accomplishing goals for quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate repair scheduling and communicate with customers and service teams.
  • Rescheduling and maintaining accurate records of all work.
  • Oversee repair operations.
  • Perform equipment surveys.
  • Assess component replacement needs of vertical transportation equipment.
  • Conduct field safety process audits.
  • Verify and approve time tickets.
  • Close out jobs on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance and project completion by prioritizing repairs.
  • Addressing safety and contractual obligations.
  • Submitting required confirmations after resolving violations or deficiencies.
